Hi there and thank you for stopping in. My name is Lara and I LOVE to photograph babies. I have loved taking photos for as long as I can remember. It just took me awhile to realize I should do it for a living. You know what they say, “do what you love and you will never work a day in your life”. How true. My grandfather bought me my first camera when I was in the 3rd grade. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to shoot my first roll of film. When the photos were finally ready a few days later I was so excited to see my beautiful pictures. I opened the envelope and I had 24 spectacular photos OF MY EYEBALL!!! I had the camera turned around the wrong way. First photography lesson learned, make sure the camera is pointing the right way! In the 8th grade my grandpa bought me my second camera. He was the greatest. If you loved to do something he would be your biggest fan and would make sure you had the tools to do what you loved. For the rest of my teen years and adulthood I was always the girl with the camera. It took me way too long to realize what my grandpa knew all along. This is what I love, this is what I should be doing. I consider myself so lucky to meet so many families and see them grow and thrive.
In case you were wondering a little bit more about me, here are a few tidbits to give you a little look into my life. It’s only fair since you are sharing such a big part of your lives with me. I attended 13 different schools from kindergarten to 12th grade moving state to state and we are not from a military family. I am the proud recipient of the Chatterbox of the Year Award from Mrs. Sealy in 5th grade and I bet I would retain my title if they gave that award to adults. I love traveling and making memories with family and friends, old movie musicals, going to concerts, and for years before becoming a photographer I was a professional driver, carpool driver that is. Back and forth, back and forth, and back and forth, to swim and ice hockey practices, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Is this starting to sound like an Internet dating profile? Told you writing about yourself is weird.
I have an awesome, supportive family (including the family I “picked” myself, otherwise known as friends) and I adore them all to the moon and back. My favorite thing to do together is laugh. A night sitting on the couch listening to the verbal jousting and belly laughs is my kind of night; it just doesn’t get any better. If you asked them about me they would say I was nostalgic, sappy, sentimental and cheesy, surprised? But they are perfect traits for a newborn photographer. When I photograph my clients, I am sincerely and genuinely excited about the images you are going to hang on your walls, and the album pages you are going to flip through. When I am editing I just can’t wait to share your photos with you and see the look on your face when you get that first peek. And, if there are tears when we meet to view your gallery I consider it a job well done.
I hope these “tidbits” about me have shined a light on me and my personality. I truly thank you for considering me as your newborn portrait photographer. The faith clients place in me to handle their most precious gifts is absolutely never taken for granted and I consider myself blessed to share such precious moments with my families.
All my best,
Lara
