Why This Year Feels Different

What made me finally add styled sessions?

For years, my holiday season sessions have been the outdoor, golden-hour, full-family kind. One hour, one family, no lines, no rush. This year, after request after request from my Coral Springs and South Florida families, I finally said yes to something new: a styled studio experience, built just for the holidays.

What makes it feel like an experience and not just a quick photoshoot?

I don’t believe in cutting corners just because a session is shorter. There will be treats, a little bit of magic, and a few moments built especially for the kids. Personal touches that turn twenty minutes into something your family actually remembers doing together. I’m keeping some of the details a surprise, but get ready for some fun.

And if the studio isn’t really your vibe?

No worries! I’ve got you! If you love the way we’ve always done things, no worries. Outdoor golden hour family sessions are still very much happening this fall and winter. Just us, just your family, an hour of golden light, and a location we choose together based on what feels right for you this year. If this is already a tradition for your crew, let’s get your date on the calendar before it fills up.

The Holidays, Palm Beach Style

Why coral, aqua, and gold instead of red and green?

I love a traditional Christmas like we all do. Red and green, bows and bells, all the trimmings. But come on, we live in South Florida, where Christmas morning feels more like a beach day than a snow day. So instead of ignoring that, I decided to lean all the way in. “The Holidays, Palm Beach Style.” swaps the traditional palette for coral, aqua, and gold, with a fully styled set built to capture the holidays the Florida way.

How many spots are available?

Just three days, in studio, this year so these Holiday mini sessions will move fast:

Thursday, November 12th | 4:30pm – 7:30pm

Saturday, November 14th | 9:00am – 12:30pm

Sunday, November 15th | 3:00pm – 6:30pm

Below, I’m sharing every detail of the day, plus a peek at the set vibe itself, so you can see exactly what “The Holidays, Palm Beach Style” looks like in person.

And a quick reminder, if you’re looking for my classic, full-family golden hour session instead, you can browse some of my favorite South Florida family sessions right here.

Holiday Family Photo Outfits: What to Wear for Your Palm Beach Session

When you’re shopping in the store or in your closet, keep it simple. Start with a base of ivory or sand, then add one or two pieces to bring in color. A coral headband, an aqua bowtie, a touch of gold. Not a dress wearer? Light wash denim paired with a crisp ivory or blue top works just as beautifully within this palette. Soft linen pants work great too. Stick to solid colors and soft, natural textures like linen and cotton over busy patterns, and you really can’t go wrong. How to Prepare for Your Holiday Mini Session

After more than a decade photographing families across South Florida, I’ve learned the sessions that feel the most relaxed are the ones where the prep started a few days early, not the morning of if you can manage it. A little planning goes a long way toward keeping everyone calm, chill, and actually able to enjoy the experience instead of just surviving it.

A few days before your session:

  • Keep bedtime and daily routines as normal as possible. Try not to shake things up this week.
  • Skip any brand new the day of. Stiff shoes, a fresh haircut, an untested outfit might be upsetting to little ones.
  • I do have a few client closet pieces available for kids, plus one or two options for mom. They’re extremely limited, so reach out ASAP if you’d like to see what I have available and reserve sizes.
  • Talk to your kids about what to expect in a calm, upbeat way. Excitement is great but let’s not make them expect Disney World.

The day of:

  • Start slower than you think you need to and build in extra time for the undexpected.
  • A full belly always helps. Plan a good breakfast or lunch appropriate to your session time.
  • Pack a small bag with snacks and wipes, just in case.
  • Plan to arrive 10 minutes early. A 20-minute session goes fast, and there isn’t a lot of time for warming up, so we’ll work on that while your family is “on deck.”

And once you’re here, my job takes over. I’ve spent 10+ years working with kids of every age and every mood. Silly, shy, mid-meltdown, all of it. You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly behaved crew. You just need to show up. I’ll handle the rest, and together we’ll find the real moments to capture.

What can I expect when I arrive?

Plan to arrive about 10 minutes before your session time. You’ll be greeted with a festive welcome and walked straight back to the studio at your booked session time. No long wait, no time to lose momentum. Once inside, we’ll spend our twenty minutes together capturing candid, authentic moments alongside one beautifully posed shot, perfect for your holiday card. I’ll guide you through everything and keep the kids engaged with fun prompts along the way, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy it. When we wrap, the kids can unwind with a little holiday activity and Christmas music while you gather your things. A sweet way to end the visit.

When Will I See my Photos?

Your online gallery will be ready within two weeks, and from there you’ll either select your favorite images or receive the full gallery, depending on which package you booked.

What to Do With Your Holiday Photos

Once your gallery’s ready, don’t let those images just sit in an inbox. There are so many ways to actually use them this season. Printed holiday cards, classic, funny or somewhere in between are still the go-to for a reason. Nothing beats seeing your family on a fridge or mantel three states away. A digital e-cards is a great no-shippping-deadline option if you’re sending last minute. Social media is an obvious one too. A favorite frame as your profile photo or a little end-of-year roundup post is always a hit. Don’t overlook the everyday spots: a new phone or desktop wallpaper, a framed print for your own wall, or even a photo book that pulls the whole year together. However you share them, the goal is the same ; get these images out of your phone and into your actual life, not just saved in a folder you forget to open.

Christmas Studio Sessions Near You: Serving Families Across South Florida

While my studio is right here in Coral Springs, families travel from all over South Florida for their sessions. Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Parkland, and West Palm Beach, to name a few. If you’re anywhere in Broward or Palm Beach County, you’re well within reach. Just grab a coffee or squeeze in a little holiday shopping along the way. Wherever you’re coming from, the trip will be worth it.

With only three days available in the studio this season, these sessions won’t last long. If “The Holidays, Palm Beach Style” sounds like the kind of holiday memory your family’s been missing, I’d love to have you. Book your Christmas mini session to grab your spot before the calendar fills.

Make a Difference This Holiday Season

The holidays mean a lot to our families. It’s a season of gratitude, and taking care of each other.

Supporting the Greater Fort Lauderdale Diaper Bank isn’t a once-a-year thing at Greenwood Photography; it’s something I collect for all year long. I’m continually amazed by how generous this community is. So many of you have shown up to sessions this year with boxes in hand, and it’s made a real difference for local families who needed it. Thank you for that; truly.

This holiday season, I’d love for us to give even a little more. Throughout my Christmas mini session days, I’ll be collecting diaper donations again. If you have diapers your little one has outgrown, or you’d like to grab an extra box while you’re out doing your own holiday shopping, bring it along to your session. I will get them delivered for you. No obligation, just an easy way to make the season a little brighter for another family close to home.

Any size diapers are welcome. Opened or unopened boxes, along with feminine hygiene products and adult diapers too. However much you’re able to give, it all adds up and I couldn’t be more grateful to do this alongside clients who care as much as you do.
