I actually first met the Marsh family at their newborn session with their first baby girl, Ava. Mom and Dad were absolutely smitten and did not stop smiling the entire session. When baby girl was about 8 months old, Mom Kelly reached out to me to schedule her milestone session.
After chatting for a bit, I said, “why don’t we take this milestone session outdoors in Deerfield Beach?” Mom loved the idea, so we swapped baby’s milestone session for an outdoor family session, and that is how I instantly became their Deerfield Beach family photographer, too!
Baby Girl Stole the Spotlight During Their Family Photography Session
At the start of the session I asked Dad to give baby Ava some airplane swings! This was a great way to start off the session with some play time. Ava loved playing with Dad. She was smiling and laughing the entire time.
Then I asked Mom and Dad to give baby some kisses and that was no challenge obviously, she is such a cutie!!
A Deerfield Beach Family Photographer Favorite: Deerfield Beach Arboretum
During this outdoor family session, we headed to the Deerfield Beach Arboretum, a hidden little gem tucked just west of I-95 that locals often call the “Tree Zoo.” Right near Constitution Park, with winding shaded paths, bamboo groves, and a mix of tropical plants from all over the world, it has this peaceful, almost tucked-away feel that makes you forget you’re still in South Florida.
Mom, Dad and baby Ava loved exploring the little trails and open grassy areas, stopping to peek at different trees and run ahead before circling back for hugs with mom and dad. It felt relaxed and natural, more like a quiet family walk than a posed session, which is exactly why the Arboretum is such a beautiful and underrated spot for family photos.
