It had been years since this beautiful family had updated family portraits, and honestly, this session was long overdue (in the best way). I have know mom for years and she has been working hard creating and building a very successful business and the time just slipped away. As a mom of two, I know how this goes, believe me. After a few years of “I really need to book a session with you”, the time was finally right and she booked family photography in Coconut Creek.

Finally Getting This Family in Front of My Camera
Our photo shoot is what we photographers like to call a “unicorn session,” everything went just right. The weather was perfect, the light was dreamy, and they looked amazing. Most importantly, they did not hold back on showing their love for each other.
As a mom of two grown kiddos, I was really moved seeing their boy at this age. It won’t be much longer until he grows and matures and some might think his cuddles might become less frequent. But I am going to say that is not the case. Mom and dad have such a special bond with their kiddo, and I wanted to freeze every bit of it!
Why Family Photography in Coconut Creek Shouldn’t Feel Stiff
People often think having family photos means standing stiffly, forcing smiles, and saying ‘cheese.’ But that couldn’t be further from how I want your family photography in Coconut Creek to feel. All it took for me to get the magic to happen was to say “cuddle” and they were there!
You could tell they are naturally a very affectionate family and I wanted to melt. Their natural interaction let me be a fly on the wall and focus on their connection, movement, and moments that actually reflected exactly what type of family they are. Real laughs, real cuddles, and a relaxed vibe, that’s what we’re going for.

When Families Forget About the Camera
When they say a picture is worth a thousand words, this family demonstrates exactly that. I could see the love and connection they have for each other so clearly. I did not have to speak much at all. They just created the images naturally. One of my top Family Photography in Coconut Creek sessions for sure!
Best of all, they didn’t overthink it, they just enjoyed each other and had fun. No pressure, no awkward posing, just natural cuddles, laughs, and hugs. They weren’t focused on the camera unless I asked them to be, which let the real love shine through. I don’t want to say they made it too easy on me… but they kind of did!

Sessions like this always remind me why I love working with families in Coconut Creek! I lived in this community for years and I can say first hand, it’s such a warm, connected community. A lot of my clients mention how much they enjoy taking their kids to Butterfly World right here in town. I used to take my kids there, too! We had that South Florida Adventure Pass and we used it all the time there!
